Cococucumber has officially lifted the lid on Echo Generation 2, the sequel to its cult-favourite turn-based RPG, with a fresh reveal trailer during the Xbox Partner Preview. Set for release in 2026 across Xbox Series XS, PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and also launching day one on Game Pass, the game promises a bold new direction while retaining the quirky charm of its predecessor.
The trailer introduces players to Jack, an ordinary dad hurled into an extraordinary cosmic journey. No longer in Maple Town, Jack finds himself lost among the stars, navigating surreal alien worlds and forging alliances with eccentric interstellar companions. The narrative teases a heartfelt quest to return home, layered with mystery and humour.
New to Echo Generation 2 is the addition of deckbuilding to the original’s RPG format. Players will now collect and wield cards to battle bizarre extraterrestrial foes, adding a strategic twist to the series’ turn-based combat. The trailer showcased vibrant voxel art, atmospheric synth beats, and glimpses of new mechanics that blend exploration, storytelling, and tactical gameplay.
Echo Generation 2 is already available to wishlist on Steam and Xbox, with more details expected in the coming months. Are you a fan of the first Echo Generation? Looking forward to the sequel?
