Square Enix can’t stop celebrating the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX, and they are finding all sorts of ways to do it. But this most recent one is bound to get a few fans’ mouths watering. A Square Enix Pop-Up Cafe has been announced, and it will have a special Final Fantasy IX-themed menu!
According to a post published on the official Final Fantasy IX 25th anniversary website, the cafe will be situated in the Paselabo Tower, next to Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, Japan.

“In addition to operating as a café space on the 2nd and 3rd floors, goods will be sold in the 1st floor space. The café space will be used by those who make reservations first, and the goods space will be available to everyone.”
The Square Enix Pop-Up Cafe will be open from September 20th to Spring 2026, with reservations opening from September 6th. The FFIX-themed menu will be available from launch through to December 12th via the Paselabo website.
We’ve already had lottery events, livestreamed concerts, an anniversary film, and loads of merch to commemorate this milestone, even a collaboration with eyewear company ZOKK. Now, fans of this beloved JRPG can get a taste of Final Fantasy IX’s world, literally!
Now, let’s check out some of the items on the Final Fantasy IX 25th anniversary menu:
The menu is split into two seasons, featuring 7 food items and 7 drinks. The first season runs from Sept 20th to Oct 31st, with the second season running from Nov 1st to Dec 12th.

It seems like Square Enix is willing to do anything to mark the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy IX, except for what fans really want, which is some sort of news about the long-rumoured FFIX remake. The publisher has already announced the lineup of games it will be bringing to Tokyo Game Show later this year, with no mention of Final Fantasy IX.
While it has to be said that Final Fantasy IX has had a lot of attention in 2025, fans of the game may be getting a bit worn out on all these announcements. But that won’t stop us from reporting on any news around Final Fantasy IX’s 25th anniversary.
