Cronos: The New Dawn – The Catfinder Achievement Guide

In the post-apocalyptic future of Cronos: The New Dawn, there isn’t much of a reprieve from the oppressive atmosphere and constant danger. There are, however, ten furry felines you can find who could do with a pet and a new home. So what are we waiting for? Here is our Cronos: The New Dawn The Catfinder Achievement Guide!

Check out our Cronos: The New Dawn Review for our full thoughts on the game.

The Catfinder Achievement Guide

You will know that there is a cat to find nearby because they will meow from time to time, so keep your ears open!

1. Borowka

Thankfully, you can’t really miss Borowka, as they are sitting at the bottom of some stairs leading into a shopping centre near the beginning of the game.

Interact with them for a short cutscene, and Borowka will scamper off, leaving behind a healing item as a gift!

2. Mela

You can find Mela once you have acquired the Wire Cutters from the hardware store next to the apartment block where the Dive Point is located.

Backtrack to where you entered this area, keeping an eye out for a chainlocked door. Interact with it using the Wire Cutters to open the door.

Mela is waiting inside for a stroke from you and will give you a Handle to unlock a specific door.

3. Karol

Karol is found during your first dive back to 1980s Poland. You want to leave the apartment block and head across the courtyard to a lit-up magazine stand.

Once you are close, a cat will run away from you. Follow it down the road and turn right at the end.

Head down this road until you see a turn going left through another building. Go through here (you’ll know it’s the right way if you spot footprints and ND-3576 makes a comment).

You’ll reach a backyard area with stairs going down into a basement area. Go down here and get ready for some combat!

After the fight, go to the little room full of Biomass and grab the key to the hardware store.

Now, head back out (you may even spot our furry friend running passed the door as you exit).

Head left, go through the gate, and back down the road towards the magazine stand. On the right side of the road is an open playground gate.

Enter the playground to find Karol waiting for you in the snow.

Karol will gift you a Core, very nice!

4. Cynamon

The fourth cat, Cynamon, is found after you have restored power to the tram that takes you to the Steelworks. There is an office with a locked door near the stairs down to the tram (you’ll probably hear Cynamon).

Run around the benches and pass the office window to reach the door.

Inside, Cynamon waits to exchange another Core for some head scratches.

5. Merlin

You’ll find Merlin surviving out at the Steelworks. Eventually, you’ll reach an area with a closed door into a building on your right. Once you get close enough, Merlin will burst out and disappear under some rubble.

Don’t worry about tracking him down until you have acquired the Gravity Boots from another fallen Traveler.

Head back to the Traveler outpost that has the gravity pad near it, and leap up to the one in front of you, then the next one.

You’ll now be at a crossroads, and you want to take the path going up.

Continue until you see some debris affected by the anomaly. Interact with the black hole to move the detritus and then jump to the now accessible gravity pad.

You’ll be back near solid ground and should see our target quickly run inside a nearby building.

Follow him inside and give him a fuss, and he’ll give you another Core!

6. Balbina

Our next cat is found while you are returning power to the Terminal. You’ll be in the right area after you sidle through this narrow gap.

Follow the corridor until you have a door to your left and another door, which is locked, further down the corridor.

To open it, you need to go through the door on your left and fight your way through to the control room so you can flip the switch and restore power to the Terminal.

This will also unlock the door in the hallway, behind which you will find Balbina!

This cutie pie will give you another Core!

7. Gus

Gus can be found on your way to the Hospital in Sector A-0. At a certain point, you will be jumping between gravity pads, eventually leaping onto a large building.

Follow the anti-gravity walkway into the building and look across the gap for some planks of wood blocking another gravity pad. Shoot them to knock them down and then leap to the now clear gravity pad.

Explore this area, looking for an open doorway leading to a lit-up room. Inside is cat number 7, Gus.

Gus will give you another Core, how kind!

8. Bebola

The 8th cat, Bebola, is found in the Hospital, at a point when you are trying to find 3 chemicals to make a toxin that will kill a large amount of Biomass blocking an elevator shaft. You want to head into Wing B.

You need to have cleared the corridor of the two filing cabinets, and you want to enter the ward at the end with the candles at its entrance, and another filing cabinet blocking the door. If you keep your eyes peeled, you may spot Bebola running away from you down the dark corridor.

There is some fighting to be had here, but if you are quick, you can run passed the enemies that come to attack you and maneuver around another filing cabinet to safety.

Either way, once you are on the other side of this obstacle, make your way through a couple of small operating rooms to find Bebola in the last one.

She will give you another Core!

9. India

The penultimate cat is found while you are getting the tram in Station B up and running to take you to the Church. You’ll see and hear it once you reach the Traveler outpost passed the small courtyard with the Christmas tree.

Follow the path forward until you reach a crossroads with a chainlocked door on your right. Use your Wire Cutters to gain entry, and prepare to fight and sneak your way through several rooms filled with Biomass and Orphans.

The room you are looking for is at the very back and is full of TVs. You may want to regroup back at the outpost once or twice as you push through to the end of this side area.

Use your Conducter (which you got at the start of this section) to link up the power supply in the hidden room (move the filing cabinet to see it) to the control panel in the main room.

Power will be restored, with all the TVs blinking on. Exit this room and locate the now unlocked double door into the shop at the centre of this shopping area.

Head to the last set of shelves to find a hole in the wall with a couple of planks across it. Smash them out of the way and slide through the gap.

Here you will find India, who gives you the Toy Store Key, which is located back in the courtyard with the Christmas tree.

10. Freya

The last cat, Freya, is found near the entrance to the cemetery at the Church. Just passed the double gates is a crypt that is chainlocked.

Just to the right of the gate into the crypt is a hole in the wall that you want to sidle through.

On the other side is Freya, who will give you the Key to Father Wojciech’s Office.

That is all 10 cats to find in Cronos: The New Dawn! If you have been following this guide, or just using it to find the last ones you are missing, then the Catfinder achievement should pop!

Congratulations! Don’t forget to visit your furry roommates back at the Terminal for limitless petting!
