Platypus Reclayed Updated Demo Released Ahead of Full Launch

We've been covering Platypus Reclayed here at Gamer Social Club since earlier this year when we attended London Games Festival and got hands on with an excellent demo. The demo which went on to be released via Steam offered solo or cooperative play for up to 2 players and a range of difficulty levels.

We brought you the news earlier this month that Platypus Reclayed launches on 18 September 2025 (and I truly can't wait). Be sure to check out our demo impressions and exclusive interview with the original creator, Anthony Flack.

The remake of the 23 year old title has been developed with audience feedback, be it via the official Discord or other channels.

Ahead of the games full launch, the developers have released an update to the demo which takes on feedback and adds a new area. Also in the updated demo is better controller support, mouse sensitivity and improved enemy layout.

The developers, Claymatic Games also confirmed they're "preparing for future modding". Platypus Reclayed is a side scrolling shooter that is ripe for modders who will likely switch the game's ships, backgrounds and more to well-known franchise content.

The full demo patch notes are available via Steam.

Platypus Reclayed releases on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox X/S, and Nintendo Switch on 18 September 2025.
