We’re inundated yet again with a flurry of gaming announcements in conjunction with Gamescom 2025. To kick things off, the Opening Night Live delivered several hours of new game announcements. One of those titles is a new launch from Germany-based Bippinbits, a game simply titled PVKK.
Planetenverteidigungskanonenkommandant, or simply PVKK, is the second launch from Bippinbits. Their first title, Dome Keeper, has seen a Very Positive rating on Steam. This second launch, with publishing by Kepler Interactive (recent publisher of Claire Obscur: Expedition 33), promises to be a very different game.
In the recent trailer, we are presented with the perspective of a military personnel member. This individual appears to be responsible for the operations and maintenance of a gigantic cannon. However, the tone of the trailer seems to shift towards the latter half, as the music becomes more ominous. We are also shown images of attacks on our cannon as well. Also, the player is informed of “separatist” factions that exist in this world. It truly is a teaser – what is actually going on in this world? The trailer also features a very jazzy soundtrack, which I’m sure underlies some more nefarious goings-on within the world of the game.

What Else Can We Tell?
Given what we were shown in this brief trailer, PVKK almost gives me the vibes of a simulation game that holds a deep story within the day-in, day-out operations of our planetary defense cannon (per the game’s Steam page). We’re definitely going to be learning the ins and outs of this massive weapon and how to best use it, as well as maintain it. It also leaves me with a sense of apprehension – is everything right with this world? Who are these separatists? What are we defending the planet from? And what is in that tea?!?!

Per the trailer, PVKK is currently slated for a release during the summer of 2026 to PC. What remains to be seen is whether the game will eventually see launches to any other platforms. Stay tuned with Gamer Social Club for more announcements on PVKK, as well as all the other game announcements from Gamescom 2025.
