As we head into the dog days of summer people may be looking for a pick me up. While the gaming industry hasn’t slowed as much as it has in other summers it has been slower than the rest of the year. That is slowly changing with many big releases on the horizon. So what does Xbox Game Pass have in store for us to start the month? We finally have the answer via the Xbox Wire.
Xbox Game Pass August Additions

While 8 titles are listed, it is only 4 new titles joining the service as the other 4 are already in the ultimate tier and are now joining the console only Standard tier. All in all it is a pretty lacklustre lineup in terms of new additions. The highlight for many will be Assassin’s Creed: Mirage. A return to the series roots, Mirage was an enjoyable, if flawed addition to the series. Ubisoft has been bringing more titles to Game Pass recently which is a bit interesting after they launched Ubisoft+.
The games that are joining the Standard service are all standouts however. Citizen Sleeper 2 is one of our highest rated games of the year here at Gamer Social Club, scoring a 9.5 and landing in the top 10 of our best games of the year so far.
Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders is another standout. In our review we said it “strikes a nice balance between those looking to break some time records on a trail and those looking to unwind and take a trip down some beautiful mountainsides.”
Additionally, the enhanced version of Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be releasing on August 12th. This will bring a 60fps mode to the game on Xbox Series S/X and other key new features.
While this is only the first half of the month, we already know the back half of August will be solid for Game Pass as well. The latest adventure from indie developer Okomotive, Herdling will drop into the service on August 21st. Additionally, Gears Of War: Reloaded will bring us back to the days of Marcus and Dom once again on August 26th.
