Killing Floor 3 – How To Defeat The Queen Crawler

In Killing Floor 3, you fight hordes of enemies known as Zed’s with 5 different waves with increased difficulty, culminating in a 6th wave with a boss. While the game only features 3 bosses, they all definitely pack a punch, even on the lowest difficulty. With this guide we are going to help you get through the fight with one of the 3, the Queen Crawler.

If we’re ranking the 3 bosses in terms of difficulty, the Queen Crawler is definitely the easiest. Now that doesn’t mean its a pushover by any means, but lets just say if we get to wave 6 and the Queen Crawler shows up we aren’t too upset. With no armor at all on the Queen Crawler it can be damaged quite easily.

The challenges that come with the Queen Crawler is that it is lightning quick and spawns little larvae that will attack you. Because of this you can at times feel overwhelmed if too many spawn at once. But take care of them quickly and focus on the Queen itself.

Weaknesses

The Queen Crawler is weak to bio weapons (acid) and fire. However, since it doesnt have armor it can be damaged by any type of weapon or element and this also makes armor piercing ammo unnecessary.

No armor sticks out like a sore thumb on the Queen Crawler

What the Queen Crawler does have in terms of weaknesses is some big spots to aim for. It has 3 main weakpoints as well as of course its head. The 3 areas to focus on that have glowing weaknesses are:

  • Inner Mouth
  • Back Pustules
  • Front/Abdomen Pustules

The combination of no armor and weakspots pretty much all over its body makes it rather easy to damage.

How To Defeat

With its weakpoints in mind lets talk a bit of strategy. Like the other bosses there is no real way to cheese this enemy. You cant pin it in an area or anything like that so don’t focus on that. You can find an area with a turret to attack it with but thats about it in terms of where to go on the map.

Stand & Fight: The best strategy for the Queen Crawler is the simplest. With how easy it is to damage the Queen and with how fast she is, the best thing you can do is just stand and fight. You can back up while shooting it to keep giving you a bit of space, but you shouldnt have to worry about running away.

Kill Its Eggs & Larvae: What can overwhelm you with the Queen is its spawned larvae. Attack and destroy the eggs before they hatch as best you can, and any that do hatch quickly dispose of.

Watch For It’s Mire Portals: When you get to the second half of the battle the Queen will begin to teleport around. When it does this keep an eye on where the purple portal goes and dodge out of the way to avoid its attack. This is probably when the Queen is at its more dangerous.

With these few tips you shouldn’t have much trouble with the Queen Crawler. In a full lobby the Queen can be mowed down quite quickly, but even if you get it solo you shouldn’t have too much trouble.
