Good news Switch 2 GameCube lovers! Nintendo has announced that Super Mario Strikers is coming to the Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) service, very soon.
Originally released in 2005 on the Nintendo GameCube, it is a Super Mario take on five-a-side football (soccer). You get to use power-ups and classic Mario items (such as shells, banana skins) to get in the way of your opponents. You also get to employ the ‘Super Strike’ which is a charged up and super powerful shot on goal. So powerful that it counts as two goals, if successfully scored!
Super Mario Strikers will be added to Nintendo Switch Online on 3 July 2025. It is only available on Switch 2, and you need the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pak tier of the service.
NSO GameCube Titles
Super Mario Strikers joins the small but growing list of Nintendo GameCube titles that are being made available for Switch 2 NSO owners. It joins:
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
- Soulcalibur 2
- F-Zero GX
We know more are coming too. Nintendo has previously teased some of the games coming to the GameCube NSO catalogue, Super Mario Strikers being one of them. They’ve previously teased:
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
- Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness
- Chibi-Robo
