Update: We haven't seen any complaints in awhile so I think it's safe to say things are running as usual once again.
At least a few times a year the different platforms have issues with their online services. Today it appears to be Xbox’s turn as many are reporting that the Xbox Network (aka Xbox Live) is currently down for them.
Players have begun taking to social media to post that they are having issues accessing their digital libraries or playing online as they cannot connect to the internet. This problem doesn’t appear to be regional either as people from across the globe are complaining.
Xbox Support has yet to update any of its statuses on their website, nor have they posted about an outage on any social media platforms. If and when they do, we will be sure to update this article to keep you up to date. Just how widespread the issue is remains to be seen.

As is usually the case with these outages some players will say they are still online and therefore there is no problem. We suggest if you are online and playing a game to keep it open for safe measures for now.
With physical media in gaming becoming an ever more topical debate online these days, any outages like this will be sure to add to the discourse. Of course, anyone who owns a disc copy of a game can still play their games provided the game is fully on the disc.
This would be the first outage of any significance since March when many players had issues getting online.
