FBC Firebreak Gets A Post Launch Roadmap

Just days before the release of their upcoming co-op shooter, FBC Firebreak, Remedy Entertainment has revealed the game’s post-launch roadmap, including free and paid content. The FBC Firebreak roadmap was unveiled days after the game was featured at the PC Gaming 2025 Showcase as part of the Showcase Season this month.

Remedy Entertainment is a studio well known for its singular worldbuilding and focus on single-player experiences with IPs like Max Payne and Alan Wake, but is making its first foray into the world of multiplayer with FBC Firebreak.

Their 3-player PvE shooter takes place in the Oldest House, the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control, and the setting for the 2019 critical hit Control, and thus still part of the convoluted Remedy-verse. You play as a team of pencil pushers decked out in makeshift armor, equipped with one of three role-specific kits and an assortment of weapons, and try to push back against the Hiss, a para-natural scourge that resides within the Oldest House.

A screenshot of the FBC Firebreak roadmap was uploaded by the developers on the official FBC Firebreak Discord as well as the game’s Steam Page.

The roadmap is split into two periods, covering the Fall/Autumn and Winter seasons of this year. The playable content in each update will be free, while some cosmetics will require purchasing.

Fall Major Update:

  • New Job: Codename “Outbreak”.
  • New Jobsite: Research Sector.
  • New gameplay systems and enemies.
  • New free, earnable rewards.
  • New Classified Requisition (PAID), including armor sets, sprays, skins, and character voice packs.

Winter Major Update:

  • New Job: Codename “Blackout”.
  • New Jobsite.
  • New equipment and enemies.
  • New free learnable rewards.
  • New Classified Requisition (PAID), including armor sets, sprays, skins, and character voice packs.

It appears that the dev team has lots planned to support the game post-release and keep fans coming back for more, with a mix of playable and cosmetic content in the works. Remedy has made it clear that only the cosmetic content is included in the two New Classified Requisitions will require purchasing, with the rest being added for free.

While this may be unknown territory for Remedy, and fans may be wary and wishing for another single-player experience, we are pleased to see the team putting their best foot forward and showing their commitment to FBC Firebreak.

FBC Firebreak will release with digital standard and deluxe editions, and is out on June 17th across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles, as well as coming day one to PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass.
