Edmund McMillan fans can rejoice cause the day is finally here. After originally being announced in 2012 as a Team Meat game that would follow their hit Super Meat Boy, followed by multiple stop-starts through out the years, Mewgenics finally has a release date.
The release date trailer, with some help from Papa Meat – AKA Meat Canon, dropped today June 8 2025 at the PC Gaming Show.

Mewgenics will finally release February 10 2026. Just so everyone is aware, this date is only for the PC release. Edumnd has made it clear on Twitter/X many times that Mewgenics will come to consoles at a later date. However, that will only be when the PC release receives the patches it needs to be more stable:

For those who aren’t aware, Mewgenics is an endless turn-based Cat Breeding RPG roguelike from the creator of The Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy, Edmund McMillen. It’s also being worked on by Tyler Glaiel who help Edumnd on what many fans consider to be the spiritual successor to Super Meat Boy, The End Is Nigh.
