Square Enix has revealed the next addition to the Final Fantasy IX merchandise range: a trio of music boxes. This is one of several merch drops that the publisher has announced in the build-up to the classic JRPG’s 25th anniversary on July 7th.
Each 18-valve music box features one of three tracks from the FFIX soundtrack, “A Place To Call Home,” “Rose of May,” and “Not Alone”, with matching designs.

These music boxes are slated to be released on October 31st, 2025, and are individually priced at ¥2,750. They are available to pre-order through the official Square Enix online store (Japanese version).
Fans of Final Fantasy IX will immediately recognise all three tracks, with the game’s opening theme “A Place To Call Home” no doubt unlocking a memory or two. “Roses of May” is the character motif of fan favorite General Beatrix, the powerful and brilliant right-hand of the ruthless Queen Brahne. The final piece, “Not Alone”, became synonymous with the game’s lead protagonist, Zidane Tribale. Alongside the announcement of the "FINAL FANTASY IX 25th Anniversary Vinyl - Timeless Tale" vinyl, the soundtrack of FFIX is getting the appreciation it deserves.
The cadence at which Square Enix has been revealing new Final Fantasy IX merch and details in the lead up to the game’s 25th anniversary has picked up recently, with the reveal of new main cast artwork and bios happening only a week ago. It has certainly not gone unnoticed here at the GSC, and we plan to keep a watchful eye for anymore Final Fantasy IX-related updates.
