Developer Gun Interactive have confirmed that their 2023 title, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre will no longer be receiving any updates in the form of content or gameplay fixes/balances as the title is now "fully realised". The games upcoming May patch will be the last and final update for the asymmetrical horror "game based on true events".
The game will not be delisted and will remain completely playable, however the servers will be moving towards peer-to-peer matchmaking.
On the official X (formerly Twitter) page for the game, an update about the game was announced.

Speaking of their decision today, Gun Interactive had the following to say:
"We feel proud of the game we've made and we're happy that we're at a point where we feel The Texas Chain Saw Massacre has reached its full potential.
From the very beginning, we've always had a clear and concise vision for this game. We wanted to push the envelope on multiplayer asymmetrical horror, shed light on this iconic film to a newer generation, and place folks into the beautiful but macabre world of Muerto County and we feel we have achieved that."
A full statement can be found on Gun Interactive's website, as well as a note to say stay tuned for more developments from their studio. The studio are known for games of a similar ilk. What this means for the long-term future for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre remains to be seen. Gun Interactive shut down successful asymmetrical horror game Friday the 13th at the end of 2024.
