World's Edge have today announced that both Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and Age of Mythology: Retold will both be coming to PlayStation 5 within the coming months.
Outlining their plans for the series in 2025, World's Edge confirmed that alongside a breadth of new content for the existing Xbox and PC titles, they will both receive early 2025 PS5 launches starting with Age of Mythology: Retold on March 4. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will follow "˜this Spring'. Both titles will come with content parity to the Xbox and PC launches, as well as cross-play.
Age of Mythology's arrival to PlayStation is the same date as its new DLC Immortal Pillars - introducing players to the Chinese pantheon. From March 4 all updates to the game will arrive simultaneously across PlayStation, Xbox and PC stores.
Similarly, when Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition launches on PlayStation 5 that too will release with its own new DLC with more details to follow closer to release.
Finally, World's Edge announced that two new DLCs for Age of Empires IV will launch this calendar year. The first of the two Knights of Cross and Rose will launch in spring following the release of The Sultans Ascend back in 2023.
In the extensive blog post, World's Edge announced that the series has reached 60 million players worldwide, a number that will only grow more as it comes to PlayStation 5. The series now becomes the latest in Xbox Game Studios repertoire to "˜break through the green tape' and be confirmed for Sony's platform.
If you're yet to play any of the series and don't want to wait for the PlayStation release, many are available today for Xbox Game Pass subscribers across both console and PC.
