So I’m sure by now, we’ve all finished Shadow of the Erdtree behind us and we’re ready to move onto new and exciting things right…right?!

I kid of course, I’ve barely scratched the surface and the games keep on coming! Still waiting on the ‘summer lull’ to kick in, but we’re not here yet. Check out what’s making its way to you this week.

2 July – Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series)

Having defeated the despair of the Final Days, the Warrior of Light and their comrades had resumed walking their respective paths. Yet fate would see them reunited for a mission unto another reflection, and now an unexpected petition has arrived beckoning them west to the faraway continent of Tural.

2 July – The First Descendant (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series)

The First Descendant is a free-to-play third-person co-op action RPG looter shooter featuring graphics created in Unreal Engine 5. Players become a Descendant whose mission is to combat alien invaders - The Vulgus who crossed dimensions over 100 years ago and brought with them the devastating Colossi and destruction - for the survival of humanity and to protect Albion and the continent of Ingris. Players will encounter spectacular stories of forces fighting over the Iron Heart as they grow stronger through various missions and raids.

3 July – Fit my Cat (Xbox One, Xbox Series) – already available on Nintendo Switch

Fit My Cats is a 2D logical game with cute, hand-drawn illustrations. You can train your imagination and also check your space management skills.

July 3 – Parkitect: Deluxe Edition (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series) – already available on PC

Build and manage your own amusement park in this complete tycoon full of content; a modern take on old school simulation games! Find the perfect balance between functionality, design and fun.

3 July – Shy Cats Hidden Orchestra ( Xbox One, Xbox Series) – already available on Nintendo Switch, PC

The Shy Cats Hidden Orchestra is a hidden object game with musical elements. Each hidden character found unlocks a new musical instrument inside each game’s level. Thus, you’ll be able to create your own songs as you find cute little kittens hidden by beautiful 2D cartoon backgrounds.

4 July – Agatha Christie – The ABC Murders (Optimised for PS5 and Xbox Series) – already available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, Xbox One

The ABC Murders is an adventure and investigation game adapted from the classic Agatha Christie novel. The player embodies the famous Hercule Poirot in a 3rd person perspective adventure game packed with mysteries. Once again, the private detective will find himself up against a mysterious opponent who goes by the name of “ABC”.

4 July – Epic Astro Story (Xbox One, Xbox Series) – already available on Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4

Battle baddies and foster interplanetary diplomacy in an epic space colony sim! Pioneer an untamed planet, building roads and houses for your fellow denizens of the future. Cultivate your quaint colony into a stellar space citadel, and you’ll pull alien tourists from everywhere this side of Alpha Centauri!

4 July – Home Run High (Xbox One, Xbox Series) – already available on Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4

Can you lead your high school baseball team to ultimate victory? It might be a small after-school club now, but with the right training, even the sky isn’t the limit for this team! Train players by assigning them practice drills. You choose what they need to focus on, such as batting or pitching. Install batting cages, showers, or other facilities to make life better for the team. A good environment makes for more effective training! School life is not all about sports, though. Studying is just as important, so make sure to construct educational facilities to upgrade the school.

4 July – Scholar’s Mate (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series) – already available on PC

Scholar’s Mate is an immersive first-person horror experience that puts you in the shoes of Judith, a young woman who wakes up in the gloomy facilities of a psychiatric hospital. You must escape from this macabre place by solving mysteries while avoiding capture by Eddie, your sinister hunter.

4 July – Zenless Zone Zero (Mobile, PC, PS5)

ZZZ is an upcoming game from Hoyoverse, the same developer behind the mega successful Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail. ZZZ is an upcoming futuristic Action RPG.

5 July – Bleak Faith: Forsaken (PS5, Xbox Series) – already available on PC

Explore the last remnants of civilization in this vast, unforgiving, and interconnected world. Learn what is left of its history. Discover pockets of civilization in the perpetually expanding Omnistructure. Lose yourself in a journey unlike any other.

5 July – Bouncy Chicken (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series) – already available on Nintendo Switch

It's time for some fun on the farm in whimsical action puzzler Bouncy Chicken! Master single-screen challenges in top-down 3D style as you take aim at fire your feathered projectile around the chicken pen to gather cobs of corn. In each of the 90 unique levels of Bouncy Chicken, you'll have only a few shots available to shoot a chicken in any direction, ricocheting off the fence, brick walls and springy obstacles or even through warp points. The objective is to collect every cob of corn on screen before your shot chances run out.

5 July – Cyber Citizen Shockman Zero (Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series)

5 July – Overdrive Blaster (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series)

In this retro-style arcade game, you have to shoot the monsters to gather coloured spheres! Get three of the same colour in a row to get a weapon upgrade! Upgrade all three colours to win!

5 July – Paper io 2 (Xbox One, Xbox Series) – already available on Mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4

Paint the map in your own colour, eliminate your opponents, get the highest score and take over the Paper io world. Compete in a fierce battle and become a champion! Glide over the white space or your friends territory and create connection back to your own colour to claim that area. Watch out! When you move outside of your colour, your tail is exposed to attack and you can be eliminated by others.

Anything taking your fancy? I’d not seen Bleak Faith: Forsaken previously, so I’m curious to check that out.
